2012 Canadian Open

Congratulations to all of our Junior athletes and coaches Jenn Shaver and Debra Thomson, who just returned from Victoria, B.C where they competed at the Canadian Open.

The team, comprised of team members Amy, Alycia, Rachel, Deanna, Stephanie, Michelle, Natasha, Katie, Jasmine and Michelle sat in 6th, after prelims, maintaining their position in routine, dropping to 7th in Championship.

The combo event saw the girls, who were joined by Natalia, rank 5th in the country!

Special congratulations to Alycia who progressed to Phase 2 of National Team Trials!

Great job to all of the athletes who competed, and their coaches, once again making Variety Village proud!!

Variety Village Invitational

It was yet another successful year at our Variety Village Invitational, held this past Sunday, May 6th! Our athletes dominated all events proving once again what a force we are!!

Provincial Team Trials

Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed at last weekends Provincial Team Trials! Once again Variety Village shone brightly as a force to be reckoned with as many of our girls qualified for Provincial Teams who will train and travel this summer, representing Ontario!

Eastern/Atlantic Divisional Challenge

Congratulations to our National level athletes who competed, and shone, at the Eastern/Atlantic Divisional Challenge in Quebec City, from March 6th to 11th.

Provincial Championships

Our athletes competed at Provincial Champs this past weekend, February 17-19, at the Etobicoke Olympium, taking home THREE trophies!!

Waterloo Invitational

Great work to all of our athletes who competed at the Waterloo Invitational meet on Saturday January 28th, once again demonstrating why Variety Village is such an impressive club to be a part of! We had podium finishes in EVERY category we competed in - congratulations to athletes and coaches!!

Provincial Trials

Congratulations to our National level athletes who competed, January 21st-22nd, at McMaster University for Provincial Trials. The Variety Village girls took podium finishes in almost every event!!

GREAT NEWS

Amy Armstrong (Junior Team Athlete) has just returned from The Christmas Prize, in the Czech Republic.  The competition in Prague is for 13-15 Teams from all over the world including teams from Japan, Russia, Hungary and our arch rivals Team Quebec.  Amy is a member of the 13-15 Provincial Team and is swimming with athletes from other clubs in the province.  The team competed in the figure event where Amy placed 17th out of 187 athletes with a ranking of 5th on her team and 8th out of the Canadians. The team then competed, placing 2nd in routine and 1st overall!
We are so very proud of her accomplishments!! Congratulations Amy!
