Provincial Trials

Congratulations to our National level athletes who competed, this past weekend, January 21st-22nd, at McMaster University for Provincial Trials. The Variety Village girls took podium finishes in almost every event!!

Some notable placings were:

FIRST in 13-15 Combo and 13-15 Duet (Amy & Natalia)! 

SECOND in 13-15 Solo (Amy), Junior Combo, Junior Team, 13-15 Team, and 13-15 Duet (Kyra & Claire)!

THIRD in 13-15 Figures (Amy)

GREAT NEWS

Amy Armstrong (Junior Team Athlete) has just returned from The Christmas Prize, in the Czech Republic.  The competition in Prague is for 13-15 Teams from all over the world including teams from Japan, Russia, Hungary and our arch rivals Team Quebec.  Amy is a member of the 13-15 Provincial Team and is swimming with athletes from other clubs in the province.  The team competed in the figure event where Amy placed 17th out of 187 athletes with a ranking of 5th on her team and 8th out of the Canadians. The team then competed, placing 2nd in routine and 1st overall!
We are so very proud of her accomplishments!! Congratulations Amy!

Trilliums

This past weekend all of our 12 & Under athletes competed at Wilfrid Laurier University for Trillium 12 & Under Championships, where we excelled once again!

Congratulations to our 10 & Under athletes Maura and Laura who came 1st and 2nd in figures and 10 & Under Pre-set Solo! Laura was joined by Duet partner Lucy in winning 10 & Under Duet. Both girls also swim on the 10 & Under Elite team, which came first as well. Team members include Laura, Lucy, Maddy, Kyla, Siena & Katherine.They are coached by Brianna Davidson and Meghan Uhlman.

Our 10 & Under Intro team came 7th! Team members include Emmie, Hana, Ruby, Becca & Savannah.

Our 12 & Under athletes also shone! 4th in figures was Grace, while Chloe and Emily rounded out the top 10 in 9th and 10th. Emily was 6th in solo behind two exhibition swimmers, pulling her into 4th, while Teghyn was 10th. In Duet we cleaned up on the podium; 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th. The 12 & Under National Team won the event while our 12 & Under Elite team came 5th! Teams are coached by Brianna Davidson, Stacy Burns and Meghan Uhlman.

There was also a new event introduced at Trilliums this year - Thematic Combo. Variety Village put together a team with our top 10 athletes, combined of five Junior level athletes and five 13-15 level athletes. Members include: Amy, Stephanie, Deanna, Michelle, Catherine, Kyra, Claire, Michelle, Natasha & Natalia.

These girls wowed the crowd with their scary rendition of a Zombie routine and won first place!!

Espoir Nationals

Special Congratulations to Amy Armstrong who qualified onto the 13-15 National Team!! 

From June 1st to 5th our 13-15 and 12 & Under National level athletes traveled to Gatineau, Quebec for Espoir Nationals and made not only Variety Village, but also Ontario and Canada proud!!

Ontario Age Group Championships

From May 19th to 22nd our provincial level athletes competed in the Ontario Age Group Championships at the Etobicoke Olympium. Impressive swims were had by all, once again making our club proud.

VV Invitational

Our club hosted our final of three competitions on Sunday May 1st to yet again, immense success! Thanks again to all of our amazing parent volunteers who manage, without a hitch, to organize and run each successful meet, showing the province just what it means to be a part of Variety Village Synchro!!

Canadian Open

Our Junior National level athletes finished off their season in Calgary, Alberta at the Canadian Open Championships from April 27-May 1st.

Our Junior Duet of Deanna and Stephanie placed 17th in their first year as both a duet and as Junior level athletes, while the team, of which Deanna and Stephanie are also members, along with Tara, Tory, Ashley, Catherine, Michelle, Natasha and Olivia, placed 9th.

Central/North Regionals

VVSC hosted yet another successful meet this past weekend, April 9th & 10th, and a special thanks must go out to all who participated and lent their time and effort to make such a seamlessly run competition! 

Our parents and volunteers weren't the only ones who shone this past weekend either! Our athletes yet again showed off what an amazing club we are with prominent placings in every category we competed in!

Congratulations to everyone who participated this weekend!! You are what makes our club so special!

Divisionals

Variety Village shone once again at Divisionals, held from March 15-20th in Etobicoke. This was also a National meet for our Athletes with Disabilities!! ALL of our athletes proved, once again, what makes VVSC one of the best clubs in the province with impressive showings in all categories!

Provincial Championships

Our entire club worked together to do both a fabulous job competing and hosting Ontario's Provincial Championships on February 11th-13th. VVSC's great parent volunteers kept the judges and spectators happy with fabulous food and raffles. Our athletes remained focused and had impressive swims throughout the weekend. Provincial Trials Results

Variety Village's national level swimmers made the club proud with their routines at Provincial Trials in Etobicoke on January 22nd and 23rd. The girls started the year off right by proving once again we are one of the most talented clubs in the province! Check out our results page for more details!
